Meopham Village Hall
Fire & Emergency Instructions

  • A Registrar, i.e. a responsible person, should be appointed from the club or group.
  • Everybody should make themselves familiar with the fire exits around the hall.
  • In the event of a fire, the alarm will sound and lights flash (sounders for those with impaired sight and flashing lights for those with impaired hearing). Initially the sounders and flashing lights will be intermittent, when they become continuous everyone should make their way safely to the nearest exit and assemble at 'Henrys Hut' situated at the top end of the car park, so the area is clear for fire appliances to operate.
  • The Registrar should have a list of all persons present and check these persons at the assembly point. They can then confirm to the Fire Officer that all their members are safely out of the building.
  • No-one should re-enter the building until the Fire Officer confirms it is safe.
  • EMERGENCY EXIT DOORS
  • It has been brought to our notice that people are using the Emergency Exit Doors for purposes other than Emergencies. Please only use main entrance door.
  • NO SMOKING POLICY
  • There is a NO SMOKING policy in operation within the hall. The only designated smoking area is outside the main entrance where a cigarette ash receptacle is provided. Please do not smoke outside the Caretaker's cottage — respect their privacy.
  • Your co-operation in the above will be appreciated.
